Unreal Media Server

This program streams AVI, MPEG-1, WMV, MP3, QuickTime, and other formats supported by Microsoft DirectX. It supports digital cameras, microphones and analog video sources connected to a video card or to a FrameGrabber card that supports the DirectShow interface. Live video content is compressed with MPEG-4 codec in real time, and MPEG Layer-3 or GSM formats are used for live audio compression. It provides RTP Multicast delivery, playlists and custom encoding profiles.

Http File Server

Http File Server (HFS) is an easy to use drag and drop file server for personal file sharing. It runs as a standalone executable and does not require any installation. The program is very easy to use, just drag a file into it to share it with the world. You can customize the port it is running on, specify the IP address and monitor connections from the tray icon. HFS presents the shared files on a simple HTML page, that includes the file name and size. With some HTML knowledge, you can completely customize the HTML template to meet your preference. HFS can also integrate into Windows Explorer, allowing you to easily share files from the right-click menu.

DWebPro

DWebPro (Dynamic Web Server) is a stand-alone web-server, designed to be used on read-only CD/DVD distributions. It comes with support for CGI, ISAPI, MySQL, external software and an integrated SMTP Server. Using the server allows to to create dynamic CD presentations and web sites that are not limited to simple page display, but can include just about anything that is supported by the scripting languages. The program is poorly documented and unless you are somewhat familiar with a web server you will probably be lost. We tested it and burned a couple CDs using a test site with PHP scripts and it was working well (we did not test any other scripting languages). Additional features include a customizable splash screen and tray icon, and a compiler to encode PHP scripts. Any of the supported scripting engines must be downloaded separately. DWebPro is free for personal use.

Xerver

Xerver is an (Open Source) personal web server, that allows you to serve web pages from your computer. It also supports CGI scripts, provided you have PHP, Perl or similar installed on your machine. The server provides a fairly simple setup wizard that allows you to configure it for your needs. It offers virtual directories, custom error pages, file sharing mode and more. Xerver supports HTTP/0.9, HTTP/1.0, HTTP/1.1 and all HTTP methods. Despite the setup wizard, you should still have some technical experience in order to configure it safely.

Dynamic-CD

Dynamic-CD enables you to create a dynamic web site on CD. Unlike regular (HTML) CD compilations, Dynamic-CD includes a web server on the CD that allows you to use dynamic pages, driven by ASP and VB code, including use of MS Access database files to generate query and generate pages on-the fly without the need for an Internet connection. The program offers a wizard interface to select the files to be included and generates the complete CD image, ready to be burned with your CD burning software. Since the program is limited to ASP/VB code, the dynamic features are only available if your existing site uses ASP, or you need to create a ASP driven suite from scratch. To protect the source of your ASP scripts, Dynamic-CD offers a built-in encryption method, which however is not available during evaluation.

It provides a management interface that allows you to install/uninstall the filter for each web site, and also includes logging and log analysis (of the compression activities).
