The "GSA Image Analyser" is a utility to analyse 2D-Images and pictures of any kind. It can recognize and count objects (like algorithms from Buerker, Fuchs-Rosenthal, Thoma, Schilling, Tuerk, Tennant) in an image but also calculate the distance and areas in it. The images can be imported from many sources (file, scanner, microscope...).

FotoTagger

FotoTagger enables you to add comment tags to your JPG images, that can be viewed from within the FotoTagger viewer, but are invisible in any other viewer. The tags do not modify the image data, but use the comment space that is provided with the JPG format, therefore your original images remain visually unchanged. If you want your comment tags to be visible to all others, you can save a merged copy of the image, which permanently inserts the tag into the photo. The program also integrates with Blogger and Flickr and can upload a merged copy of a tagged image to your blog, or send it by email. Mapwel

Other features include standard image editing tools, web export, convert any image into a seamless pattern, image warping, flare effects and more.

Eye Dropper

This software is a hex utility that resides in your system tray. When the program is activated, a magnified window is attached to your mouse pointer to show you the exact location and color your pointer is on. Within the same window, the program displays the hex color values of what you are pointing at.

AKVIS Sketch

AKVIS Sketch enables you to convert your photos into pencil/charcoal sketches or watercolor drawings. It provides adjustable sliders that allow you to customize the effects and stroke types and create a variety of image styles by mixing watercolors and charcoal along with color intensity and other settings. When used with Photoshop, AKVIS Sketch also supports batch processing. Unfortunately, the program does not provide any useful presets to get you started, so it may require a lengthy process of hit-and-miss to achieve the desired results. The download includes a standalone version, and a Photoshop compatible plug-in version.

RGBmachine

RGBmachine is a basic photo editing program that is designed for quick RGB adjustments on a series of photos. The program loads all the images in a specified folder and allows you to adjust sliders for Brightness, Contrast and RGB values, as well an option to remove red-eye effects, then save the image and move on to the next one. RGBmachine uses a lossless editing approach that does not cause losses in shadows and highlight areas of the images. The program also includes a basic cropping option.

Smaller Animals ThumbNailer is a Windows utility that allows you to create thumbnail images and image galleries. You can use it to convert between one graphics format and another, change image color depth, resize images, make image galleries for the web or CD and more.

Photo Effects is a new program for processing photos with the help of various filters. With it, you can completely transform any image. PhotoSort

PhotoSort enables you to find duplicate photos on your computer. The program analyzes the actual images and can find duplicates or similar photos, even if the file name and size are different (e.g resized versions), or watermarks/logos have been added. The results are displayed in a list, grouped by image and similarity, and provide a preview of the selected image, as well as additional details. You can select files, and then proceed to delete them.

ColorCache

Brava Reader enables you to open content protected .CSF files. In addition, it allows you to view or print TIFF and PDF files as well. It includes a magnifier lens, monochrome viewer, and measurement option.

AKVIS Chameleon

AKVIS Chameleon enables you to create smooth image collages by automatically adjusting the inserted objects to the target image color range. The pasted selection does not need to be overly precise, just paste it and then run Chameleon to make the adjustments. It works excellent in some cases, but not as well in others. Unfortunately there are no options to manipulate the results or settings - what you see is what you get, no options to fine-tune. This makes it very easy to use, but also severely limits the flexibility. Requires Photoshop or PS Elements for best results.

Shup

Shup is a free multi-host file uploading, image editing, and collaboration tool for Windows. With it, you can quickly share your screenshots, images, and other files by turning them into web links. Shup is excellent for uploading all kinds of files, especially when combined with the included (and optional) Windows shell extension/plugin. SilverFast PrinTao

SilverFast PrinTao enables you to print multiple images on the same page using print templates. The photos can be freely arranged, rotated and sized, and you can also add text and insert EXIF/IPTC data into the comment areas. A small file browser window allows you to drag and drop images directly into the template. Other features include image frames and built in color management.

PSD Repair Tool

PSD Repair Tool is a utility for recovering damaged Photoshop (PSD and PDD) files, allowing you to restore images and their layers. It works with all version of Photoshop and supports files of various color modes, color depth and with RLE compression. Pictures Toolbar for Internet Explorer

Pictures Toolbar for Internet Explorer allows you to download all images that are linked from a page and then view them as a slideshow in the browser window. You can navigate back and forward or delete an image or switch between galleries. The images are automatically downloaded and saved as galleries in a folder of your choice. The toolbar makes a handy addition to IE for people that frequently download large numbers of images from web sites. Configuration options allow you to specify the level of linked images to download, the extension(s) to be included in the download and the minimum size of an image to be downloaded.

ExifPro is an program meant to display, manipulate and browse photographs. ExifPro can display images in different view modes. Selected images may be copied, resized, cropped and adjusted using tools offered by ExifPro. ExifPro can also present information embedded in JPEG photographs (EXIF block) describing different parameters digital camera used while taking a shot. One can create HTML albums or slide show applications using built-in generators, print images, append descriptions and tags.

AdesClrPicker

AdesClrPicker allows you to pick and collect color values from anywhere on your screen and save them to a custom color library from where you can copy the RGB code to the clipboard. The program also stores the last 10 color values and makes them accessible from the tray menu. AdesClrPicker offers minimal features and only supports RGB code conversion (HTML code disabled). At his price we would have expected a lot more features, wider conversion support.

Batch JPEG Rotator

JPEG is the widely used image format for digital photographs because it supposed true colors (16.7 million colors palette) and the image quality to file size ratio is unbeatable. JPEG uses a 'lossy' algorithm which reduces file size significantly as some level of image quality is sacrificed. At the 1:1 ratio, the loss in quality is not significant but when you enlarge the image, the pixelization would be more evident. Because of the lossy algorithm, each time the images are re-saved, the image quality would fall further. This 'lossy' algorithm is what makes JPEG so popular but it can be a burden. As photographers, it is not uncommon to take both landscape and portrait images so as to capture that special moment in time. The camera is made for Landscape images and not for Portrait images. On the camera, we could just turn the camera to take those portrait shots but the images would appear as landscape images. In order to bring it to perspective, we will need to rotate the images. However by doing so in JPEG means that there would be some level of image quality loss. The Answer is in Batch JPEG Rotator. It applies a new technology which allows for true lossless JPEG Transformation. What this means is that no matter how many times you start rotating the JPEG images, the image quality would remain with no loss whatsoever. Color Bee enables you to pick and arrange colors to create a color palette that fits your needs. The program is designed to grab, collect and test colors, and while it does contains several swatch libraries with color schemes, it cannot help you create or find harmonious colors. The color code output is limited to hex code (HTML) and RGB and export to BMP image.

AmphiSoft Simplifier

Photoshop plugin for painting-look effects like watercolor, dry brush and others. Filter segments source images on regions and simplify color gradations within them, apparently emphasizing borders between regions. Fully compatible with various image editors, from Photoshop to freeware like IrfanView or XnView.

Layer Pilot

Layer Pilot is color quantization software allowing you to apply the posterization image effect to your photos. To create an image poster you can break up your image into separate color layers and merge them to form a new version of your original image. This new image poster will consist of only a few colors of your choice! Every color layer can be saved as a separate image or can be exported as a layered PSD file.

You can change the colours, flip and nudge it around from the keyboard. The readout gives the absolute pixel distance that you are measuring. This version can be used for free - an optional registration will add 360 degrees rotation, additional units of measurement (inches, cm etc...) including custom units and relative measurements.

GenoPal

GenoPal is a utility to generate eye pleasing color schemes based on a start color you pick from your screen or the standard Windows color palette. It offers two sliders that let you change the diversity and lightness of the generated colors. You can choose from 4 different layouts that limit or expand the number of colors that are included in the pattern, and also lock specific colors, preventing them from being changed when you browse through the schemes. If you find a scheme you like, you can save it or export it to Adobe or Solidworks formats. Unlike most other color scheme tools, that allow you to define how colors are selected, GeneoPal provides very little control over the colors that are generated, and it does not offer any support for browser safe colors, page layouts or other aspects of web designs. The generated schemes are indeed pleasant, but considering the rather expensive price, we would have expected some more features and control over colors. Includes plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
