WinMerge

WinMerge is a visual text comparison application, that allows you to see the highlighted differences between 2 text based files. It is in particular useful for comparing source codes, and offers optional support for Visual SourceSafe syntax highlighting, customizable highlight colors and more. QuickLZ

QuickLZ is a high speed data compressor that uses a proprietary compression format, which is completely I/O bound and compresses files much faster than other algorithms. Universal Extractor

Universal Extractor is a utility do to exactly what it says: extract files from any type of archive, whether it's a simple zip file, an installation program, or even a Windows Installer (.msi) package. This is still a work in progress, but so far it's proven quite useful and I feel others can also benefit from it. I should stress that Universal Extractor is not intended to be a general purpose archiving software. It will never replace WinRAR, 7-Zip, etc. What it will do is allow you to extract files from virtually any type of archive, regardless of source, compression method, etc. The original motivation behind this project was that I wanted an easy, convenient way to extract files from installation packages, such as Inno Setup or Windows Installer packages, without pulling up a command line every time. In the process I got a little carried away and ended up throwing in support for every kind of archive format I possibly could find.

Archive SE

Archive SE is a system that can archive (or compress) files in a variety of known formats (.tar, .tar.gz, .gz, .tbz, .tar.bz2, .bz2 and .zip). This allows users to keep large quantities of files in one place and to save space, which is especially useful if you are archiving source code, HTML files, photographs, sending items over the internet or just for backup purposes. The decompression engine can also process Rar files. The system is designed to allow easy use of Tar Gzip archives which is of particular use when backing-up. The system always appends files so that previous versions of files are not overwritten and lost, this is especially useful for source code. As the Tar Gzip format is widely used on Unix machines, archives produced by users on Unix systems can be easily accessed, appended or altered, without having to decompress and extract the archive to get at its contents. With the simple and intuitive interface you can easily find items, which you can then drag n drop to extract. You can add items in the same way by dragging n dropping new items to be appended to the archive. In Windows XP and Vista (or newer) the option of listing the archive using a tiled view, excellently enhances the information shown for each item. This saves having to get the item properties or having to set the view to details.

ALzip
