Koma-Mail is a simple, portable email client, that can be run standalone from a USB drive. It allows you to send and receive email from your POP3/IMAP account. The program supports SSL and APOP and contains options to block scripts, ActiveX and HTML content for increased security. It also includes a basic spam filter option and can be used with multiple accounts and multiple users. Koma-Mail can import/export email messages and contacts, maintains an encrypted database and even includes a simple RSS feed reader.

Clyton

Clyton is an email client with advanced security and spam filtering features. The spam filter is highly configurable and supports DNS blacklist checking (DNSBL). Expect 85% of spam to be eliminated with the default configuration. Email that is suspicious but not obviously spam can be quarantined for 24 hours and then retested. The built-in address book supports personalized mass-mailings. Received email cannot run scripts, download multimedia, or use embedded objects without the user's approval. A very capable little email program with a ton of features, excellent as an alternative to the big guys, or as mobile solution on a USB drive.

Eudora Pro Beta

Eudora Pro Beta is a robust email client whose features include the ability to filter, redirect, and forward mail, as well as multiple address book formatting options. It supports QuickTime 3.0 and HTML-enriched email, letting you include stylized, formatted text and in-line graphics in your messages. Other features include a three-paned interface; background mail checking and sending; the ability to import existing settings, email, and address books from Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, or Netscape Mail programs; a Qualcomm PureVoice plug-in that allows voice message exchanges; and a customizable interface including movable, dockable window groups and toolbars. Eudora also features support for regular expressions in filters, field autocompletion, an automatic spelling checker, and filter that will 'speak' the name and subject of incoming messages (requires a sound card).

Espresso

Espresso is a permissions-based email client, that is designed to filter all unwanted mail from your Inbox by only allowing messages from known senders. All other emails are moved to a Junk folder for further review. The program integrates a challenge/response system that can automatically send and approval request to unknown senders, which allows them to verify their intend and be added to your list of approved senders. Messages can be approved based on the sender`s address, domain and also keyword in the subject or body of the message. If you have a limited range of people that you are in contact with, this type of spam control can be very effective, as it does not rely on filtering, but only allows the mail from the people or sites that you want to communicate with. You can always review the filtered messages to make sure you did not overlook any important message, and the program can automatically delete them after X days. Sylpheed

Sylpheed is a simple, lightweight but featureful, and easy-to-use e-mail client (mailer, MUA). Sylpheed runs on Unix-like systems such as Linux, BSD, and Mac OS X. It also supports Windows. Sylpheed uses GTK+ GUI toolkit. The newest version of Sylpheed works with GTK+ 2.4 or later (2.6 or later is recommended). Vista NetMail is an email client program with built-in anti-spam and filtering capabilities. This redesign of the Mozilla mail component includes the stand-alone mail program and the news reader. It acts as a cross-platform, stand-alone mail application, using the XUL user interface language. It works with Mozilla FireFox and other stand-alone browsers.

Geminisoft Pimmy is a email and newsgroup client that allows you to manage multiple email accounts and newsgroups. You can check your mail, save it locally, send replies, preview messages, delete selected items and more. It also comes with a built-in address book and support for custom signatures and templates. Pimmy can automatically download your mail, notify you when new mail arrives and more.

FastTrackMail

This e-mail program allows you to send and receive e-mails, and manage mailing lists and customer requests. It also has a built in auto-reply function. You can set up a rule set and if an incoming e-mail meets it, FastTrackMail automatically replies. You can also set up rules to file and filter both incoming and outgoing mail. FastTrackMail can process data from Web site forms, allowing you to build and manage mailing lists, and process client and customer information.

Eudora Pro

Eudora is one of the best e-mail clients on any platform, and the Newton's no exception. Unlike the Mac and Windows version, however, it lacks support for multiple accounts.

MicroMail

This software is a portable and light-weight e-mail client with support for unlimited POP and SMTP accounts. You can backup account settings and it provides full local access to your saved text e-mail.

Popcorn

Send and receive e-mail using secure SSL encrypted server connections. Popcorn works as a client-server application, reading mail directly from POP servers. It supports multiple account profiles. It requires no installation, no data is saved locally other than a portable INI file containing account information. It is immune to all forms of e-mail attachment and HTML viruses, scripts and trojans, because it does not directly support receiving attachments or viewing HTML, and optionally supports viewing/saving attachments and HTML through external applications. The built-in mail editor and address book enables you to compose and send new mail with or without file attachments, reply to, forward and re-direct received mail using SMTP or ESMTP with authentication. Fits on a floppy or other portable media. Using the Mail Message format, you can import mail items composed, saved or sent from Popcorn into other popular e-mail clients.

CrunzhMail

This software is a very small and simple e-mail client that doesn't have any of the numerous features like a calendar or a spell checker found in larger e-mail clients. It's specifically designed for the purpose of sending out quick e-mails.

Pegasus Mail for Win

Pegasus Mail is a powerful mail program that can be used in a very wide range of environments, and which is especially well-suited to Internet mail. The program has tons of features, including multiple signatures, HTML support, mailing lists, address books, reply templates and many more. Pegasus Mail has special support for Novell NetWare local area networks and operates in that environment with almost no maintenance and with a number of extra capabilities.

FoxMail

Foxmail is a compact, yet very powerful email program with many useful features and a pleasant interface. Foxmail supports POP3 accounts as well as Hotmail accounts and offers support for HTML email, mailbox encryption, multiple accounts and more. Foxmail also comes with a WYSIWIG tool to compose nice looking HTML emails from templates or scratch. The program also offers filter options, allowing you to act upon incoming mail that meets certain criteria - you can delete messages, forward them, auto-respond to them and more based on keywords appearing in the subject, address, text etc. The Express Send feature enables you to send mail directly to the recipient, using the built in SMTP server, thereby bypassing your ISP. Foxmail includes many other features, including a remote mail viewer to manage mail on the server, as well as a small scroll ticker that displays message subjects as they arrive in your inbox.. It is probably one of the most capable email programs you can find and an excellent alternative to Outlook Express (can import Outlook messages).

mailclad Communicator Love is a totally free to download and use full functional E-Mail Client available for Windows ME/2000/XP Home, Professional and Apple Macintosh OS X.
