Photo Frame Show

This software is an imaging and desktop enhancement program that adds frames to digital photos in order to enhance your personal albums, projects, Web sites or desktop wallpapers. You can choose from a variety of frames and add them to your images, save your framed images in popular formats for use on your projects, print your framed images through an on-screen virtual printer, and e-mail your framed images to your friends from within the program. You can also blend your favorite pictures with your desktop wallpaper by dragging and dropping them at your desired location on the screen.

Inpaint

Inpaint enables you to remove undesirable objects from your digital photos. It analyzes the selected area and attempts to fill it with pixels that match the surrounding area of the object to be removed. The program produces good results with objects on plain backgrounds or simple patterns (sky, sand, concrete, grass etc.) but failed to perform with more complex backgrounds.

Poster Forge

Poster Forge enables you to create stylish wall posters from your photos. You can choose from motivational poster, movie poster or `Wanted` poster styles, and customize them with your own text, headlines and other details. The resulting poster image can be saved to image file or printed with the built-in poster print utility, that enables you to slice and print the poster across multiple pages, and then assemble it to the specified size (e.g full movie poster size).

DarkAdapted

DarkAdapted allows you to quickly adjusts screen gamma settings to preserve dark adaptation. It is useful for astronomers and others who need to preserve dark adaptation while using the computer. cam2pc - Freeware

Cam2PC is a solution for digital camera owners that helps you transfer pictures to the PC and provides image viewing and management features. It also makes transfer of images from your camera easier by automatically creating folders and sub-folders based on date or description. It can optionally rename the files as well, either by date, ad incremental numbers and more. NDWGeoTag

NDWGeoTag enables you to add GPS location data to JPG images. If you are taking pictures and simultaneously track geo location data with a GPS unit, you can use this program to load the GPX data file and add Lat/Long or OSGB information to the EXIF headers of the photos. The program will parse the images and match them to the GPX data based on their EXIF date. You can also rename the images based on the date or position. NDWGeoTag can also be used to parse existing JPG images for GPS data.

PixGPS

PixGPS enables you to write GPS coordinates to the EXIF data your JPG files. It requires to use a GPS along with your camera and set waypoints or enable tracking. You can then use the track file from the GPS and synchronize the images with the GPS coordinates based on matching time stamps. Additional features include time adjustment options, Google/Mapquest lookup of the locations and export to text file.

BR Software PixGPS

PixGPS is a simple program for Microsoft Windows that makes it simple to insert the exact position of each photo (latitude and longitude) into the photos EXIF meta data. All you need is: a digital camera that stores EXIF inside the image file (most cameras do this) a GPS Receiver that can store track logs in GPX format.

The program uses a process that involves the taking of a second picture using a bright background with the same lens, filters and hood that caused the initial vignetting effect. You can then load the second image as a mask and further adjust the effect and brightness until the vignetting effect is reduced or removed. Can produce good results, but involves some effort.

SetNameToTime

SetNameToTime is a handy utility for digital camera owners, that allows to easily rename digital photos (jpg/tiff) based on the EXIF information that is included with nearly all digital cameras. You can rename each photo based on the date it was taken, but also include any other part of the EXIF data into the file name, as well as custom prefixes or other additional text. Photomatix Pro

Photomatix Pro enables photographers to combine multiple images in order to blend exposure settings and achieve an increased dynamic range that can normally not be achieved due to the limitation of film and digital cameras. When capturing scenes that contain very bright and very dark areas, the photographer must usually exposure for the part of the images that he wants the user to focus, or find a common middle-ground thereby sacrificing certain details of the image. By bracketing a shot and creating multiple exposures, each optimized for foreground, background and other details, you can create a series of images that Photomatix Pro can combine into a single, properly exposed photograph that displays the complete range of exposure throughout the entire image. The program offers an automated process that tries to detect the optimal settings, or you can manually process the images with complete control over the blending process. Photomatix Pro requires a series of image exposures, the program is not designed to fix a single photo. The trial version adds a watermark to the output image.

RoboGEO

RoboGEO is a utility to geo-reference digital images with latitude, longitude, and altitude information. It can print this information onto the actual image (small footer on image) and also add it to the EXIF headers, allowing you to permanently link the photo to the GPS coordinates. RoboGEO works with any digital camera and includes direct support for Garmin GPS units and can also import G7ToWin tracklog files, so you can use it with other models as well. It can also be used to launch online maps, that show you the geographical location for images that have the geo data added. RoboGEO does not require the use of a GPS, since you can also enter the Langitude/Lattitude information manually, but it works most efficient if used in conjunction with a GPS unit.

My Fantasy Maker

My Fantasy Maker enables you to replace faces in photographs in order to create fun (fake) pictures that show you or your friends mingle with celebrities or similar situations. The program uses a simple 3-step approach where you select the background picture (the scene) and then select the face (from a different picture) that you want to transfer into the scene. You can rotate, resize and adjust the face to match the proportions and lighting of the original and then save your final result as a new image.

FrameShow

FrameShow allows you to easily frame your digital photos, using a large collection of realistic and stylish frames. You can resize the photo or frame, using sliders and browse the frame gallery by category to find a frame that matches the picture and purpose. The image can then be saved to file in popular formats, embedded in your desktop wallpaper (cool), sent via email or printed. Additional frames can be downloaded from an online gallery.

Stepok RAW Importer

Stepok RAW Importer enables you to open and convert RAW files from most camera models on the market. It offers a step-by-step wizard to open the files, select the conversion quality and make basic adjustments to the file (exposure, dynamic range, color temperature etc.). The image can then be saved in JPG or TIFF format. Stepok RAW Importer also includes a batch conversion mode, however without image adjustment options. It supports Canon RAW CR2,CRW; Kodak RAW DCR; Adobe Digital Negative DNG; Konica Minolta MRW; Nikon NEF; Olympus ORF; Fujifilm RAF; Leica RAW, Contax RAW, Casio RAW and other raw formats. Stepok RAW Importer is no match for commercial RAW converters, but works well as a free alternative.

WIA-Loader

WIA-Loader transfers pictures from a camera or flash card to the PC. It offers many options to name image files and folders and give you the possibility to geocode pictures with gpx-files.

Jpeg Exif Stamper

Jpeg Exif Stamper enables you to stamp your photos with the EXIF date of when the picture was taken. You can choose the type of font to use, as well as a font color and background, or overlay the date as a transparent watermark. In addition to adding the date watermark, the program can also sort the processed images into folders that are named after the date and/or camera model (as found in the EXIF data). Other features include optional JPG quality adjustments, file renaming, batch processing, resizing of the output files and more.

STOIK Noise Autofix

STOIK Noise Autofix provides an easy to use and effective way to automatically clean digital noise in photos, which is often caused by high ISO setting in low light environments. The program can automatically target the noise reduction level based on the ISO settings contained in the EXIF data and will attempt to reduce the noise effect to a more acceptable level, while maintaining the image details and natural appearance (it will not make skin look unnaturally smooth or plastic-like). STOIK Noise Autofix is excellent for novice users as it provides very good results with fully automatic settings. Unfortunately it lacks batch processing and some more options that would appeal to more seasoned photographers.

Photo Organizer Deluxe

Photo Organizer Deluxe is a complete program that allows PC users to create and manage picture and multimedia catalogs. It provides a simple interface and offers ready-to-use templates, that make it easy to set up and use. A wizard is provided set up and use the image and multimedia database organizers that you create. Additional features include HTML reports, integrated screen capture, scanner support and more. Your database is completely customizable, in fact you can create it from scratch, setting field names, layout and more. If you prefer an easy start, you can use the templates to choose from various database designs that are ready to use. The program can also be used to organize many other things and is not limited to just photos.

AKVIS Noise Buster

AKVIS Noise Buster is a Photoshop compatible plug-in for noise suppression in digital photos and scanned images. It offers a fully automatic filtering mode that does a good job in eliminating most common noise, and you can further tweak the settings to achieve results that meet your personal preference. The program offers a before and after view that allows you to compare the results with the original (not side by side though, but indifferent tabs). Overall we saw decent noise elimination, but very slow interface and performance. AKVIS Noise Buster is compatible with Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Jasc paint Shop Pro and other editors that support Photoshop plug-ins.

Hide Hellion Eye can automatically remove red-eye effect from your photos. Using the program could not be any easier, you can simply open (or drag and drop) the images that you want to correct and the program will automatically scan for the face, detect the eyes and apply the correction. You can preview the finished image and then save it as a new file or replace the old one. The red-eye detection was very accurate and properly detected and fixed the effect in all our test images - without any user interaction. If you run into a tricky image, you can also apply the correction manually by simply selecting the affected eye area.

FxFoto

FxFoto allows you to edit, correct and improve your digital images. You can import your photos directly from your camera, or from a local folder. The editing interface is divided into several sections, and allows you to improve your image in various ways by correcting common mishaps like red-eye and improper white balance, as well as skin blemishes and more.
