Zaep AntiSpam is a challenge based anti-spam system that can eliminate 100% of the spam you receive. SpamPal is an anti-spam tool that runs as a local POP server, receiving and filtering your email before it arrives in your inbox. Unlike many other anti-spam solutions, SpamPal does not delete any messages, but rather adds a ***SPAM**** mark to the email subject, which you can then use to configure your email program and have it delete or move them to a different folder. In addition, you can maintain a white-list of senders that will always be accepted, as well as a blacklist of senders that will always be rejected (tagged). The program offers a handy auto-whitelist which can automatically add frequent contacts to the list and exclude them from ever being tagged as spam. By default, SpamPal relies on DNSBL lists alone, which identifies spam based on an entry for the sender in one of the public DNSBL lists. However, you can optionally activated plug-ins that will also act on "bad words" found in the message body. Overall SpamPal provides a nice solution to combat spam and offers many useful features. E-mail filtering is very slow, and due to the lack of advanced word filters, it catches only a portion of the spam, while better results require expert tweaking and plug-ins.

Spam Monitor detects and tags unsolicited junk mail when you download it into your mailbox. It does not prevent the download of spam, but tags the subject line or headers of the incoming email, so that you can configure your email program to delete or otherwise process the suspected spam messages. Spam is a disease. It is a plague of the modern Internet. Is there a cure? Various techniques were developed and tried. But spammers quickly make them obsolete using even newer tricks. Fortunately, Reverend Tom Bayes, who lived in the 18th century, has given us a powerful weapon against spam. He wrote a formula for guessing how likely it is that something will happen based on two or more independent events. Several years ago Paul Graham proposed to use this formula to guess whether a piece of e-mail contains spam. The new method is called "Bayesian filtering". Its main difference is its ability to evolve with time. Spammers develop new tricks to fool spam-protection systems, but Bayesian filters learn to catch these tricks immediately. Spam Reader is an MS Outlook plugin that extends this powerful e-mail software's functionality with a Bayesian spam filter. There is no need to run an external program. Spam Reader fully integrates into MS Outlook. After installing it, you will see a new toolbar and a new item in the main Outlook menu. The program`s filtering capabilities are based on a service that requires frequent updating of the filter definitions, which eliminates the need to create manual filters. We found the filtering results to be rather mediocre with only 70-75% of spam messages caught. Unlike most modern spam tools, Vade Retro Antispam does not have the capability to learn from misclassified messages, so there is no way for the user to improve the filtering results, other than hoping for improved filter updates - which are not provided during the evaluation period.
